About Jemma
Dr Helfman has worked with children, adolescents and their families for more than 20 years. She uses games and activities to make individual sessions engaging, while creating a safe and purposeful space for progress.
Her work uses structured behavioural interventions, including speech “fade-ins”. As progress is made, she works with parents and schools to help extend that progress into everyday life and the wider community.
Dr Helfman completed her doctorate in clinical psychology in London and has extensive specialist training and experience in selective mutism. She is also the owner of The Feelings Place and director of Confident Kids Camp in Toronto.
